Deborah Catalano

As a Shareholder, Deborah Catalano has more than 20 years of experience representing employers in all aspects of litigation and arbitration, through trial and appeal. She has helped private sector clients avoid jury trials by vigorously defending management and obtaining summary judgments in multi-plaintiff and individual cases.  At trial , she has been successful in obtaining defense verdicts.

Deborah has represented employers at hearings, conferences, and investigations before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Florida Commission on Human Relations (and DOAH), and the Department of Labor (unpaid overtime and minimum wage issues and family leave issues).

Deborah has successfully defended several Orlando restaurants and transportation clients in collective wage and hour actions for overtime pay.

From a proactive standpoint, Deborah assists employers in fulfilling their compliance obligations under wage and hour statutes (FLSA), The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) and Title VII of the Civil Right Act if 1964, and other employment topics.  From a non-litigation standpoint, Deborah advises her business clients in day-to-day preventative counseling to assist them in navigating the increasing scope of federal and state employment regulations, including advising employers on how to separate employees from the company.
